A cassette series designed for shanavlab.
Founded by artist Sheng Jie (gogoj) in 2010, shanavlab regularly invites artists worldwide to share and exchange ideas. This release features 3 performances from the online series and 1 from the freetalk series, all recorded in 2011.
The performances were streamed late at night via livestream.com, with artists playing in empty studios, using direct input while audiences tuned in freely online. At that time, broadband speeds (2–4 Mbps download, 0.5–1 Mbps upload) made live streaming an adventure. The cassette audio is extracted from the original streams — imperfect in fidelity, but vivid in memory.

shanavlab由艺术家盛洁成立于2010年，定期邀请来自世界各地的艺术家分享他们的创作过程与作品。
此出版选了线上演出板块中的三场演出，和一个自由交谈板块中的一场演出。线上演出这个板块是在深夜，以直播的方式特定的一种演出形式。室内无观众，所有表演者带着耳机，在工作室安静的将他们制造的声音，以线路输入的方式实时传送至网络，各地的观众可以自由的在线收看和讨论。在2011年，主流宽带以2-4Mbps(ADSL)为主的时代，上传速度只有0.5-1Mbps，仅应用于网页、标清视频的浏览，实现直播这件事如同时代发展中的风火轮。这里所呈现的音频直接取自当时的原始直播——音质虽不完美，却让人记忆犹新。
