Book as Culture

Type: Book Design
Year: 2014
I’m interested in the concept of the book as more of a cultural object rather than just a medium for transferring thoughts. I created this series of three mini-books, each measuring 1.7 by 2 inches. The series explores three distinct graphic design cultures in Asia: Japanese graphic design from the 1920s-30s, Chinese firecracker label design, and contemporary graphic design in Japan. Each book contains approximately 150 pages.
